Terms of Service
Last updated: October 12, 2026.
These Terms of Service are the End User License Agreement of ArtUp Ledger, a Shopify app that records a store's Shopify orders, refunds, taxes and payouts in the merchant's QuickBooks Online company. The app is provided by ArtUp Labs, the trade name of Individual Entrepreneur Karpets A.V. (Artyom Karpets), Republic of Kazakhstan ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you install it for a business, you agree on behalf of that business. Questions: support@artuplabs.com.
The service and your license
While the app is installed on your Shopify store, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for that store. You need your own Shopify store and your own QuickBooks Online subscription; neither is part of the app. The app, its code and its content stay ours.
Your QuickBooks connection
When you connect QuickBooks you allow the app to read your company's settings and lists and to create the documents, accounts, items and customers described in the posting guide. You can disconnect at any time in the app's settings or in QuickBooks. No orders or other documents are posted to QuickBooks until you start syncing in the app's setup; before that, setup can create the clearing accounts and items you approve.
Your books and taxes
The app posts documents to QuickBooks according to the settings you choose. You, together with your accountant, remain responsible for your books, for your tax returns and filings, and for checking what the app posts — including the documents the app lists under "Needs attention". We recommend that your accountant reviews the setup and the first documents. The app and its texts are not accounting, tax or legal advice.
Plans and billing
- The app has a free plan and paid plans. Paid plans are billed by Shopify, in US dollars, on your Shopify invoice, and start with a 14-day free trial. The plans and their monthly order limits are listed on the support page and in the app.
- Orders over your plan's monthly limit are not sent to QuickBooks: they wait on the app's dashboard until you upgrade and retry them.
- A new price applies to you only after you approve it in Shopify.
- You can change your plan at any time in the app. To cancel, uninstall the app: the subscription ends and Shopify stops billing for it. Charges already billed are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
Acceptable use
Use the app only for your own store and only lawfully. Do not try to break, overload, copy or reverse engineer the app, reach other stores' data, or get around its plan limits.
Your data
Your store data and your books are yours. We process them only to run the app for you, on your instructions, as the Privacy Policy describes: what the app reads, what it stores, for how long, and how it is deleted when you uninstall. If you need a data processing agreement, write to support@artuplabs.com.
Shopify, Intuit and other services
The app relies on Shopify and on Intuit's QuickBooks Online, which are run by others under their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or for changes they make to their services; when one of them changes, we adapt the app as soon as we reasonably can.
ArtUp Ledger is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Intuit Inc. or Shopify Inc. Intuit and QuickBooks are trademarks of Intuit Inc., registered in the United States and other countries. Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc. They are used here only to name the services the app works with.
Changes to the app
We improve the app over time and may change or remove features. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other merchants at risk, and we tell you why.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties, express or implied, including that the app is error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties and interest, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to what you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may end these terms if you seriously breach them, after telling you. When the agreement ends your license ends, and your data is deleted as the Privacy Policy describes. Documents the app already posted stay in your QuickBooks company.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and its courts decide disputes about them, unless the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be taken away. Please write to support@artuplabs.com first: most problems are solved by a reply.
Changes to these terms
We publish any change on this page with a new date. A change that reduces your rights is announced in the app or by email at least 30 days before it applies; using the app after that means you accept it.
